Shelagh Paul

Shelagh is OMERS Senior Vice President, Global Communications, having joined the team in 2017. In this role, Shelagh brings an integrated approach to OMERS investing, corporate and internal communications strategies, positioning the OMERS enterprise to engage key audiences and attract talent.

Prior to joining OMERS, Shelagh worked for over 20 years in the Canadian property and casualty insurance industry at both The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company and Travelers Canada. Most recently, she served as Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communications, and was accountable for leading, developing and executing marketing strategies, broker communications as well as internal communications initiatives for all facets of the corporate and business unit strategies. She also held roles in Operational Planning and Corporate Projects, Business Development and Business Performance, and Sales.

Shelagh holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Science and a M.Sc., Urban Planning, both from the University of Toronto. In addition, she holds a Master’s Certificate in Marketing Communications Leadership from the Schulich School of Business.

Shelagh is married and has two sons. They reside in Burlington, Ontario, where Shelagh has served on the Board of the YMCA – Hamilton Burlington Brantford since 2015.
