Biography
David joined OMERS in 2013 and leads the Event Driven Strategies team, an internal hedge fund focused on merger arbitrage, Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs), and other corporate events globally. The team employs quantitative models to systematically profit from opportunities globally.
Before joining OMERS, David held similar roles as a Portfolio Manager with ATP, Denmark’s national pension plan, and as Proprietary Trader with Barclays Capital in London. Prior to his career managing money, David qualified as a Chartered Accountant and worked in corporate finance in Toronto and London with KPMG, focused on real estate transactions. David also worked as the Controller and Treasurer of a small manufacturing company in Ukraine.
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario’s Honors Business Administration program, David is also a CFA® charterholder.
David has been actively involved with the Board of Directors of Revue Film Society, a not-for-profit corporation set up to run the Revue Cinema, Toronto’s oldest operating movie theatre.
