Brad is a lawyer with OMERS Capital Markets, and joined OMERS in October of 2012. Brad is responsible for advising on over-the-counter derivatives, repos, securities borrowing, and certain corporate governance and regulatory matters affecting OMERS Capital Markets global investments.
Brad is a co-lead on the OMERS Capital Markets LIBOR / CDOR replacement initiative. Brad sits on the Capital Markets Trading Management Oversight Committee and the OMERS Liquidity and Funding Forum. He is the primary OMERS representative for ISDA and the Canadian Market Infrastructure Committee, and sits on the PIAC IPC legal working group. Brad has acted as a speaker and panelist at various conferences on OTC derivatives and LIBOR.
Prior to joining OMERS in 2012, Brad worked at The Bank of Nova Scotia for 9 years negotiating derivatives related agreements and advising on complex derivatives matters, including advising on derivatives claims related to the largest bankruptcy in world history. Prior to leaving Scotia, Brad was dedicated to ScotiaMocatta, where Brad advised on commodity and FX derivatives, as well as precious metals loan, lease and consignment agreements. Brad has also worked as an articling student at Gowling Lafleur Hederson LLP and as a summer law student at Smith Lyons LLP.
Brad holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours History) from the University of Western Ontario.
